New music for the weekend: Coldplay’s second-to-last chapter, The Smile’s third smile and Caribou’s dance
The first week of October kicks off with the release of Coldplay’s new album, “Moon Music”, the 10th in the Brits’ career. “It’s our response to all conflicts, both internal and external”, said vocalist Chris Martin, who has already guaranteed that Coldplay they will only release two more albums after this one.
Totaling ten tracks in total, “Moon Music” is described by Martin as being an album that is about “some of our personal challenges, but also about other people’s challenges”. “There has never been an easier time to give up; This record is about not doing it.”
Recorded at Punta Paloma studios, in Tarifa, Spain, “Moon Music” features collaborations with names like Little Simz, Burna Boy, Jon Hopkins or Ayra Starr, and some of its songs can be heard live at the end of this month, when Coldplay take the “Music of the Spheres” tour to Australia and New Zealand.
