Figueiró dos Vinhos, Castanheira de Pera and Cerdeira: a journey between nature and creativity

In Figueiró dos Vinhos, the first stop is made at Santa Luzia Confectionerywhere you can try a unique sponge cake, as well as various convent-inspired sweets. A few minutes away, you will discover the village of Casal de São Simão, where there is only one street, slate houses and a restaurant. Through a walkway it is possible to observe and access the Fragas de São Simão.

At the top of the Lousã mountain range, in the municipality of Castanheira de Pera, in the place known as Santo António da Neve, there are wells, which, along with the Neveiros in Serra de Montejunto, are unique examples in the country. The buildings dating back to the 18th century were used to store ice that was transported to the court and bars in Lisbon. This is one of the mandatory places on the pedestrian routes that make up the Hiking Festivalan initiative by the municipality of Castanheira de Pera that takes place between the 4th and 6th of October.
