Vila Real, Viana do Castelo and Braga under yellow warning due to rain

The districts of Vila Real, Viana do Castelo and Braga are under yellow warning this Wednesday due to the forecast of periods of rain, sometimes heavy, especially in mountainous regions, according to IPMA.

The three districts will be under yellow warning between 09:00 and 15:00 today.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) also issued a yellow warning for the south coast of Madeira due to hot weather from 9am today until 6pm on Friday.

The yellow warning is issued by IPMA when there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.

The IPMA predicts periods of rain for today on the continent, more intense in Minho, Douro Litoral and the highlands of the Central region, and with mist or mist, strong wind in the highlands, a small increase in the minimum temperature and a decrease in the maximum.

Temperatures will range between 14 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 20 (in Faro) and maximum temperatures between 19 (in Bragança, Porto and Viana do Castelo) and 28 (in Faro, Beja and Évora).

For the Madeira archipelago, periods of very cloudy skies, weak to moderate winds from the northeast are expected, sometimes blowing strongly in the highlands and extreme east and west of the island of Madeira from the afternoon onwards.

Temperatures will vary between 22 and 28 in Funchal and between 27 and 22 in Porto Santo.
