The strange cyber attack on Navegante passes that kept TML silent
The first day of October would have everything to be a grand return with students ready to go to classes and workers and pensioners ready to renew their monthly pass, but the IT department at Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML) ended up not keeping up with the old routine yearly, upon confirming the blocking of the Navegante app, which allows you to travel on Carris, the Lisbon and Margem Sul Metros, Transtejo boats or CP trains
The alert ended up coming from TML itself, reporting a large-scale cyber attack (TML described it as “massive”), since Monday against the systems that support the Navegante app on cell phones. The company’s announcement only mentioned that the Navegante app was the target of attack – and did not say anything else about the topic.
