Hearing of candidate for Banco de Portugal administrator generates ‘talk’ between PS and PSD

Luis Morais Sarmento was heard this Wednesday in a hearing at the Budget, Finance and Public Administration Committee. Morais Sarmento accepts with “pleasure but also responsibility” the nomination for director of Banco de Portugal.

“I have a solid economic background, relevant management experience for the role of director of Banco de Portugal”, he stated.

The nominee for the position of BdP Administrator faced questions from deputies, especially from the Socialist Party.
