Diesel and gasoline are expected to become more expensive next week

The price per liter of diesel is expected to rise by 1 cent per liter from Monday, July 8, while that of gasoline is expected to increase by 1.5 cents, according to Express industry source.

The average values practiced at the pumps on Thursday, July 4, according to data from the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), were 1.595 euros per liter for simple diesel, and 1.738 euros for gasoline simple 95. Which means that the price per liter next week should be around 1.605 euros for simple diesel, and 1.753 euros for simple 95 gasoline.

The price reflects the evolution of crude oil on the international market. In the week now ending, reference contract prices continued their upward trend, driven, in part, by greater demand for fuel in the summer season.

Prices at the pump, however, may differ from the average prices calculated by DGEG, depending on the gas stations, location and cars supplied.
