At stake are the 25% he holds in the company Verbos Imaculados, which in turn controls Notícias Ilimitadas, the company to which JN, O Jogo and TSF, among other media outlets, will soon be transferred. social.

The buyer of the 25% is IlÃria, another shareholder of Notícias Ilimitadas, which thus becomes the largest shareholder, with 35% of the capital. The stake in the Officetotal group was held by the company OTI Investimentos.

Diogo Freitas, president of the group and who was the face of this solution, explains that “this decision to divest in this business aims to free up resources for investments in areas where we will be able to make a difference and add value , something we didn’t envision be capable in this business†. The group plans to strengthen its manufacturing capacity, namely with the acquisition of a factory in Spain.

On March 27, Diogo Freitas had already left the administration of Notícias Ilimitadas, justifying this decision at the time with “differences of thought regarding the strategy to follow for the new group†. He then said: “I don’t want to be an obstacle to the good development of the project, but I cannot be called upon to agree with what is not in accordance with my vision of what is best for the business†.

With this change, Verbos Imaculados now has IlÃria as its main shareholder (35%), followed by Parsoc, with 30%, and these two had already been partners of businessman Marco Galinha at Global when he was the largest shareholder. Then it appears journalist Domingos de Andrade, with 20%, which will be the person responsible for managing the new group, and Mesosystem, with 15%.

Verbos Imaculados has 61% of Notícias Ilimitadas, with Global Media holding 30% of the new group, at the same time as holding the entire capital of Diário de Notícias and Açoriano Oriental, among other titles. . At this moment, the sale of titles to Notícias Ilimitadas is already dependent on bureaucratic issues: the deadline for notifying the operation to workers is running out, after which the business will finally be accomplished. And after the closing of the transaction, the sale of the controlling position in the investment fund World Opportunity Fund to Marco Galinha will then be completed, which will thus regain control of the communications group is social.

The other 9% of Notícias Ilimitadas will be allocated to the company’s workers through a cooperative to be established.
