Minister announced “new regime” to attract foreigners, which after all is not new – and in the meantime the Government deleted a statement
This Thursday morning the Financial Times published an interview with the Portuguese Minister of Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, stating that qualified workers abroad will be able to come to Portugal and benefit from a lower IRS rate of 20%. It is presented as one of the 60 measures that the Government has included in the package to boost the economy, approved by the Council of Ministers.
But not only is the subject controversial (there have been advances and setbacks in recent years) but, in the meantime, the way in which everything was communicated generated mistakes, with the Government immediately deleting a statement that it had published on your portal.
