What the next EU leadership has to do
Now that voters in the 27 member states of the European Union have elected the 720 members of the next European Parliament, attention is shifting to recruiting staff for the institutions that will guide the bloc’s work and will define their strategic priorities over the next five years. This process will take some time. But by the end of the year – after all the predictable haggling and parliamentary turmoil – it should be completed.
