Railway collision in Olhão leaves one dead and cuts off traffic on the Algarve line

A person died today after being caught by a train in Quelfes, in the municipality of Olhão, leading to the cutting of rail traffic on the Algarve line, a source from Faro Civil Protection told the Lusa agency.

The alert was given at 8:05 am, and 12 operatives supported by six vehicles arrived at the scene of the accident.

The source from the Faro District Relief Operations Command said that it was “a railway collision, which resulted in one person being killed”, without providing further details.
