Kittie have officially announced their first album in 13 years. The new LP, titled Fire, will arrive June 21st via Sumerian Records.

In advance of its release, the Canadian metal band has unveiled the new song “Vultures,” which follows previous singles “Eyes Wide Open” (a Heavy Song of the Week honoree in February) and “We Are Shadows.”

Regarding the new album, Kittie singer-guitarist Morgan Lander stated, “10 years ago, if someone would have told us that we would be releasing new Kittie music in 2024, we’d have dismissed them right away. It feels like something deeper than fate that’s brought us together again, allowing us to create something fearless and magical for you. We’ve worked incredibly hard over the past year, and surrounded ourselves with the ultimate dream team to make this album a reality. We cannot wait for you to lose yourselves in the passion and strength of Fire.”

The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz, known for his work with Foo Fighters, Rush, Alice in Chains, Korn, Halestorm, and more.

As for the single, Lander remarked, “‘Vultures’ is a bold musical declaration, signaling our new beginnings as a band. ‘Vultures’ is a warning to those with hidden agendas, who thrive on deception. It’s a proclamation of breaking free of the chains of exploitation and a reckoning for those who pick at the bones of those who suffer in silence.”

The music video for “Vultures” contains footage of Kittie performing the song at the recent Sick New World festival in Las Vegas.

Kittie are also set to perform this month at the Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple festivals, and play select headlining North American dates in July and August. Tickets to their upcoming shows are available here.

Lander was recently a guest on Consequence‘s Beyond the Boys Club podcast, where she and We Are Pigs’ Esjay Jones discussed their new KittiePig non-alcoholic beer with host Anne Erickson.
